On March 12, Sine Qua Non participated in the European Regional Dialogue Forum, held in Barcelona under the auspices of the Global Democracy Coalition (GDC).
The European Regional Forum served as a clear demonstration of Europe’s commitment to democratic principles. The forum was organized in conjunction with three other regional forums, in the Americas, Africa, and Asia, prior to the Democracy Summit in Seoul, and within a week-long celebration of democracy. These forums, held in conjunction with the Global Democracy Coalition Forum also in Seoul, served to highlight the importance of democracy in these regions.
The forums constituted a space for constructive dialogue on democracy. They brought together a diverse group of organizations dedicated to democracy, as well as policymakers and democracy advocates from around the world. The objective was to gain insight into the regional perspectives on democracy and identify solutions to the difficulties encountered.
The European Regional Forum constituted a significant event that facilitated dialogue and collaboration among European stakeholders concerned with democracy. The forum provided a space for the exploration of the complexities of democratic governance in Europe and its broader global implications. By adopting a global perspective and examining the multifaceted dimensions of democratic challenges and opportunities, while considering regional perspectives within the broader global context, participants were able to gain a comprehensive understanding of the current state of democracy and its future trajectories.
The GDC Europe Forum was an invaluable event for the advancement of democratic discourse and the establishment of connections between stakeholders dedicated to the promotion of democratic governance in Europe and beyond.
