Members reviewed the organisation’s recent activities, discussed future priorities, and appointed a transitional committee to guide the association through its next phase.

Sine Qua Non held its Annual General Assembly on 12 September 2025, bringing together members to review the organisation’s activities, assess its current situation, and discuss future perspectives.
During the meeting, members reviewed activities carried out over the previous year, including the organisation’s support for civil society initiatives, international advocacy efforts, engagement with United Nations-related processes, and work on human rights, democracy, and minority protection.
The Assembly also reviewed the organisation’s financial position and the measures adopted to ensure its sustainability. Members exchanged views on the challenges currently facing the organisation and on possible pathways for its future development.
A key item on the agenda was the election of a new governing committee. Members expressed their sincere gratitude to Jordi Serra and Noemí Kohler, former President and Treasurer of the organisation, for their dedication, commitment, and valuable contributions to Sine Qua Non over the years. Their support and leadership have been instrumental in sustaining the organisation’s work and mission.
In light of the organisation’s current circumstances, the Assembly agreed to appoint a transitional ad hoc committee to oversee the association during an interim period. The committee has been entrusted with managing the organisation’s immediate responsibilities while facilitating broader reflection on its future. Its mandate will be to support a process through which members can assess the viability of different options for the organisation and determine whether a sustainable project and leadership team emerge to guide a new phase of development consistent with Sine Qua Non’s mission, capacities, and available resources.
Sine Qua Non would like to thank all members, partners, and supporters for their continued commitment and looks forward to continuing its work in support of human rights, democratic participation, and international cooperation.
