Over the past two years, organisations across International Geneva have faced an increasingly challenging funding environment. Reductions in public and private funding, shifting donor priorities, and growing financial pressures have affected a wide range of civil society organisations, international institutions, and initiatives working in the fields of human rights, development, democracy, and peacebuilding.

Like many organisations operating within this ecosystem, Sine Qua Non has also been affected by these changes. The reduction of available resources and the conclusion of several collaborations have led the organisation to adjust its operational structure and scale back some of its activities.

As part of this transition, the organisation has gradually reduced its operational capacity and concluded its staff-based organisational model. While this marks the end of an important phase in the organisation’s development, it also opens the door to new ways of working that are better aligned with current realities and available resources.

Looking ahead, the association will continue its activities through a more flexible structure built around the commitment of its members, volunteers, and collaborators. The organisation will maintain its engagement in areas such as human rights, democratic participation, international advocacy, conflict transformation, and support for civil society initiatives.

This new chapter will focus on consolidating existing partnerships, exploring new opportunities for collaboration, and identifying sustainable pathways for future development. Sine Qua Non remains committed to its mission and confident that the strength of its network, together with the dedication of its members and supporters, will continue to provide a solid foundation for its work.

Sine Qua Non would like to express its gratitude to all staff members, partners, volunteers, and supporters who have contributed to the organisation’s achievements over the years and who continue to accompany it as it enters this new phase.
